PAINT THE TOWN 2008 now in planning

The date has been set for September 13, 2008 or September 20, 2008 if it should rain. The neighborhoods selected for this year's project are Southside University and Lake George Neighborhoods. If you are income-qualified or to find out if you are, contact the HRA. Last year nine homes were painted in one day!

Volunteers are still needed, team sponsors, home sponsors, donations (money, volunteer door prizes, painting materials or cash). Let's make this year an even larger and more successful event than last. This is a great community effort for improving neighborhoods and we need your help. The city of St. Cloud can offer a very attractive incentive package to businesses that meet the business subsidy criteria. We have identified several strategic industries that we wish to pursue, including manufacturing. The City of St. Cloud has utilized Tax Increment Financing (TIF) as well as Job Opportunity Building Zones (JOBZ) to attract recent projects. Our goal is to offer an incentive package that would best fit the prospective business.

A homelike environment for single adult (over 18) males and females that is affordable, chemically free, safe and clean. Our application and service provider plan is designed to ensure this. The tenant selection process is designed to identify those with a reasonable chance of remaining lease compliant either with or without outside services. It is not subsidized housing, but will accept Section 8 Housing Choice vouchers. It is targeted to eligible individuals seeking permanent, affordable, chemically free housing and intent on remaining lease compliant.
