During the year 2000 two family housing complexes, The Creeks (24 units) and The Brownstones (12 units), were designed, constructed and rented under Section 42 of the IRS Housing Tax Credit Regulations. Both projects were nominated and selected for the 2001 National Award of Merit from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials.


Qualifications
60% maximum income  - 2 persons $33,420; 3 persons $37,620; 4 persons $41,760.

Household size must be 2 or more. Rent is $500.00 for a 2-bedroom and $560.00 for a 3-bedroom. Utilities are not included.  Security deposit is the same.transportation points and within easy walking distance to shopping and services.

The Brownstones Townhomes are large, two and three bedroom townhomes. They are located close to downtown on 9th Avenue. The Brownstones are a twelve-unit townhouse community with four two-bedroom units and eight three-bedroom units. Amenities for the townhomes include a tot lot with play equipment. Swisshelm Village Apartments are conveniently located just off the Interstate 94 exit near St. Augusta in south St. Cloud in what is known as the McStop area. The apartments are close to several major employers such as Merrill Corporation, Spee Dee Delivery and Fulfillment Systems. This 32 unit building is the first of three phases. It is an 18-unit affordable building. This building was purchased October 31, 2002. The apartment rents are set at the same amount as the fair market rents for the area. A rehabilitation of the apartment building was completed in 2003. The rehabilitation work consisted of new siding, parking lot, roof, fire alarm system, appliances, carpet, and painting.

60% maximum income. Rent is $360 for a studio; $475 for a 1-bedroom and $565 for a 2-bedroom.
